This unit is all about keeping food safe to prevent food poisoning happening to you, your friends and your whanau. There are two practical food safety cooking assessments that you will complete.

In this unit we will be firstly looking at New Zealand food, we will investigate how it fits into our culture and experience it. We will then look at other countries around the world, we will investigate their culture and experience some of their traditional foods.
For the assessment part of this unit you will choose a country. You will then research the countries culture, create a poster and then cook a traditional food which you will share at our class banquet.
